Resolutions

The new year means new beginnings and changes. It is a great time to evaluate where you are at and where you want to go. It is the time to set new goals and start to make changes in the direction that you want to go. I am a big fan of setting goals, and I usually set new goals each week. I set 3 goals a week: spiritual goals, physical goals, and educational goals. I find it easier to set weekly goals, because I am more accountable and have to reevaluate where I am each week. Those weekly goals are small goals I make to accomplish the larger goals so that they don't seem as scary or overwhelming. So this year, for the first time ever, I made a list of New Years resolutions (the big goals) that I want to accomplish/change throughout the year, and I will make my small goals each week so that I will be able to attain these bigger goals. Here is the list I have come up with off the top of my head:

1. Qualify for the Boston Marathon
2. Get a 3.8 or higher next semester
3. Read the Book of Mormon cover to cover
4. Earn 2 years worth of car payments working this summer
5. Do a sprint triathlon
6. Read a new book every month
7. Cut back on drinking caffeine
8. Answer and return phone calls and texts
9. Participate in service once a week
10. Let people I love and appreciate it know it more often
11. Learn how to cook, and cook meals more often
12. Be more spontaneous and outgoing
13. Take more pictures
14. Bear testimony vocally at least 3 times throughout the year
15. Have a better attitude of gratitude

So there are some things that I have been thinking about that I want to do/change in 2011. It is going to be a great year and I am so excited to have a fresh new start to make these new changes and make this year even better than the last!!
