Workin' Hard

So...I may have just started working full-time at my dad's office again just 2 days ago...but I feel like I haven't missed a beat!! I am very involved in the company's non-profit scholarship that we have created to help single mothers attend college. Next week, we are hosting a 5K to raise more money to award more scholarships. This race has become the center of my focus since I started work. In the past two days, we have gotten tons of sponsors and cool prizes for the race. I really think it is going to be very successful. I am really hoping that we get a lot of people out to support such an awesome cause.

A little bit of background about the cause...

Almost 6 years ago, my sister Katie's husband passed away unexpectedly. Her daughter was just 3 months old. Katie's world had shattered. She was a 23 year old hairdresser and now she was supposed to provide for herself and her daughter all on her own. She decided the only way to make it would be to go back to school at UVU. As driven as Katie is, she finished her degree in just 2.5 years with an AMAZING GPA of 3.7. How awesome is that!? Since she went through it first hand, she realized that there really aren't any resources for single mothers out there. She ran into stumbling blocks everywhere she went with school and childcare and everything between.

From that experience, we decided that we wanted to help other people who are in that similar situation. Last year, we raised enough money to give out 2 scholarships. It was so cool how grateful those incredible women were. There is nothing better than giving people the opportunity to make the impossible POSSIBLE!!

So now I am reaching out to all of you blog followers!! Come support this cause!! The race is going to be AWESOME! If you click on the link at the top of my page, you can register from there. PLEASSEE spread the word and come out to support us next week!

Full Time

First off, I would just like to brag and tell all of my blog followers that I got a 3.7 last semester!! Wahoo!!! 2 more semesters to go! I am so glad that the wait/stress is over and I can move forward. Speaking of moving forward...I moved forward FAST! Finals ended on Friday...48 hours after my finals ended and I moved home...I began full time work, full time summer school, and full time marathon training. AWESOME! My room is still packed with boxes, as I haven't had time to go through all of my stuff/can't decide if I want to live in an apartment or at home for the summer...hopefully everything slows down one day. I'm not really seeing a break anytime in the near future though! It's okay, at least my life is most definitely NEVER boring. I just constantly go. Like...it's three in the morning and I am blogging after a full day. I am waking up in a few hours and doing it all again. Love it. So anyways, tonight we decided to go have some fun with friends up in Salt Lake. We went to Karaoke night at Keys on Main and it was A BLAST! After, we grabbed Denny's...which is NEVER EVER as good as it sounds like it will be in the middle of the night....So here are some pictures from my BRAND NEW canon SD 1400 camera that the AMAZING Josh Story gave me for my birthday.

SURPRISE!!!

So as I have said before, this finals week has been INSANE. I am still recovering. Sometimes I have mental freakouts where I feel like I should be writing a paper or studying or something and then I remember that school is over and I can take it easy...at least for a week before the summer semester begins. So the night before my birthday, I was in full-swing going insane slash stressed mode. I had one final left that was going to be pretty tough and I had to clean and move out of my house. I was stressed out of my mind taking tums and pepsid every few hours for my finals week ulcer named Lucy after my teacher. So anyways, the night before the last day, my friend Luke gave me a call and wanted to take me to ice cream for my birthday. I was extremely stressed, but I figured I could do ice cream. Well...little did I know...my friends and roommates planned a surprise party for me!! Complete with a cake and piñata! I was seriously soooo surprised!! Here are some pictures....

Walking in

My cute piñata
Getting blind folded

Getting spun around...

Swinging at the hardest piñata I have ever swung at! It would not break!
Still won't break!

Getting aggressive with it!

Finally got it! It was filled with my favorite things!

Then we had my cute cake!

My mom was in town for the party! She was totally in on it and I had no idea!

My cute roommates who orchestrated it all.

So thanks to everyone who helped take the edge off of the week a little bit and allowed me to celebrate being one year older!! It was so fun and great to say goodbye to all of my Logan friends. They will most definitely be missed!!

New Addiction

I'm obsessed.

I have never ever been a John Mayer type of kiddo until this week. For some reason, as I am studying for finals, he calms me. He speaks to me. I'm IN LOVE with John Mayer and all of his grand beats and lyrics.

One more final to go, and then I am HOME FREE!! Last spring semester of my undergrad will be complete! That feels AMAZING!! Just gotta finish strong! If my calculations are correct, the worst I can get is a 3.7...I think I am totally okay with that.

I seriously think that this week has given me an ulcer. Last night, I woke up with an extreme pain in my stomach. Woke up, downed some tums, took my final, and was good as new! How sad is that? Finals week causes the inside of my stomach to bleed?! Woof.

It's my birthday on Friday, and I get to be done with school and move home for my birthday. BEST.PRESENT.EVER!!!

Last Weekend

WOW! What a freakin weekend. I am literally EXHAUSTED. I have barely been able to keep my eyes opened all day long! This weekend was out of control! Remember how we met the funnest guys ever this weekend? Well, the fun continued ALL DAY SATURDAY. This is what we did:

  • Ihop for brunch
  • Harley Davidson show
  • Hit a bucket of balls
  • Played at the park
  • Went to the zoo
  • Got ice cream at Zeppes
  • Ate at Pita Pit (one of our new friends is a big deal at Pita Pit)
  • Went to a few stores
  • Discovered my camera broke and had a bunch of sand in it...so, my great friend Luke tried to do surgery on it. Last time I saw my camera, it was in pieces. Very sad. I am not quite sure how I am going to document my life for this blog anymore
  • Dominated in foosball
  • Ate an AMAZING dinner made by Luke
  • Got VIP passes to a huge dance party at Hamiltons (remember how I am friends with people that are a big deal and sponsor dances? Boo yah!)
  • Danced the night away
  • Watched a movie until about 3 am.

Yesssir this weekend was OUT OF CONTROL! It was seriously sooo much fun! Love my new friends/my best friends and roommates. I might actually miss this place...but I am sooo stoked to move back to Utah County this summer! 5 more days!!!

Here are the last pictures my camera ever produced for me. Sad face.

We know how to have a GOOOD time!

WOOOOW! Why is it that you always have the most fun in a place that you are about to leave? I swear, in the past few days we have met the funnest guys and done so many fun adventures! I am getting kind of sad that we are moving this summer now!

So remember that project? It was due by midnight, I got it done around 8pm tonight. 135 slides about religion=DONE! 7 projects due in the past 2 weeks= DONE! All I have left are finals and I am totally stoked on those!!

So tonight, after I turned in my project, we went to Sean Kingston in the streets. It was sooo fun! I had so much fun messing around and dancing with my friends. We had a fabulous time!! After the concert, there was a dance party that was actually quite fun as well!!

After dancing, Vanessa went to participate in this crazy thing where she jumps in first dam. IT'S FREEEZING!! So we went and watched her, and she did it like a champ! I'm proud to be her roommate. After, to warm up we went hottubin. LOVE. Relaxing, warm, in good company. LOVED IT. After that we ate cobbler and watched a movie at our great friend's house.

What a night. It seriously was sooo fun! I am stoked for this weekend, we have some fun plans ahead of us....
Here's pictures from the concert....

I would rather...

Okay so for my VERY LEAST FAVORITE class EVER, we have to read a 600 page book about the different world religions, and make a 100 page power point presentation based on what we learned. IT IS AWFUL! It has consumed my entire LIFE! I have never felt so bugged and stressed! I really can't even turn my neck all the way, because it is so tight. This really is making me mad, because I will think I got a lot done, then the next day I realize how much MOORE I have to get done. It's due by Friday at midnight, so we will see if that actually happens. Bah I hate school. So here is a list of things I would rather do then have to endure this stupid project:

1. Live in Idaho
2. Eat 500 pickles
3. Get ran over by a car on my bicycle and have medical/bike damages
4. Watch Dora the Explorer EVERY SINGLE DAY for an entire year
5. Sleep outside in this freezing weather
6. Swallow my dead fish Kroll whole
7. Be single for the rest of my entire life
8. Have buck teeth
9. Sit in a waiting room every single day for a year
10. Stare at Austin's "ugly" smile constantly every day for a year.

Yes, I would rather do those things that this stuuuuupid project! Bah! It's really ruining my life soooo much!! I hate it more than anything right now!!
