Inconsiderate Little Whores

Okay, so it's time to lash at some people. It may be because it's finals and I am already stressed. It may be that we are playing Springville (number 1 team in Utah) and I am super nervous. It may be because it is cold and I hate it. It might be because I have the world's gnarliest/most painful canker sore in the whole entire world. Or it may be because people don't know how to treat other people. I would say the latter would be the most correct.

The other night we went to the hot tub to take a little break from studying. It seemed like it would be one of our most favorite hot tub trips yet. We got a lot of girls to go, there were a lot of hot guys there, and the temperature of the hot tub was just right! What could go wrong right? OH SO MUCH. So as we making casual conversation with these boys who seemed to be really nice, smart, funny boys...their little brat whores show up. Obviously they are threatened that we are talking to "their" men, so they come in and get all over the boys and act like the biggest sluts in all the land of Logan. I didn't know this was happening until after we got home, but in the corner, two girls were going around all the girls in the hot tub and saying "she has a good body", "she doesnt"...and on and on! WTF?! Seriously?! That is straight up ridiculous mean girl crap that they just pulled. I was LIVID when I heard that it was going down. How shallow can someone be??!! I was straight up disgusted by how they acted and wish I would have given them a piece of my mind, because I totally would have. I would tell them how shallow and stupid they were for caring about that kind of crap. UGH idiots!!

Can I just say? I am so sick of people right now?! Wherever there are people, there is drama. It is straight up ridic. Can't we all just get along? I really think I just want to live in a cave all by myself for the rest of my life and I would be so much happier! I am the type of girl that can go days without talking to anyone (which prolly isn't good) and be completely content. I like to just live my life, play my game, and not worry about the crap that goes on. I avoid drama at all costs. Yet somehow, I ALWAYS have drama. I'm sooo sick of all the bad things like jealousy, hatred, anger, etc that control people!

Did we forget, "Men are that they might have joy"???? So quit worryin about other people and all the crap, because chances are...in another week there will be a whole different dramatic situation and the next week there will be another one. The madness will never end! Where there are people, there WILL be drama.

Best Feeling

Some of the best feelings are....

  • When you do better on a test than you thought you would
  • When there is one last fruit snack that I didn't see in the package
  • When you find a song that perfectly describes your mood
  • When you go on a run and it completely turns your day around
  • When someone tells you how amazing they think you are
  • When you feel appreciated for all of your hard work
  • When you find money in your pocket
  • When you take a short nap and it totally rejuvenates you
  • When you look in the mirror and think "I look good"
  • When you get on the scale and weigh less than you anticipated
  • When you get a phone call or note from a long-lost friend that you didn't expect
  • When the team you coach wins by 51 and 54 the past two games!!
That's all I can think of at the moment, but there are a lot of "best feelings" out there. A lot of "best feelings" happen when someone makes you feel really good. Why not try and give someone a "best feeling" everyday? Wouldn't the world be a much better place if we told people how great they are, how much they are appreciated, and how much we love them? Everyone would have a "best feeling" at least once a day...and that might be enough to turn someone's day around, or even life around.

When I was in high school, I had a lot of hard times and challenges. There was one person who turned it all around for me. Just by telling me how great they thought I was and they would notice even the little things that I did and tell me how much they appreciated it. They would tell me they loved me until I believed it. When you feel that love and safety provided by another person, it can really turn things around for you...it did for me.

So go be that person for someone. You never know what someone is going through and who needs to hear those things. You could be the person to save someone, just by letting them know how you feel.

Love is probably the most powerful gift that anyone could give.

Sometimes

Sometimes... I sleep through class, and don't even feel guilty

Sometimes...I wake up and start getting ready for my next class and decide I look gross and it's too cold to go anyway

Sometimes...I follow the rule "If I workout, I can eat whatever I want"

Sometimes...I get my favorite drink from Starbucks instead of going to class

Sometimes...I drive around in the mornings just to wake up

Sometimes...Scraping my window is actually super satisfying

Sometimes...I finished my senior practicum application and felt really old

Sometimes...I act like a freshman in college, rather than a senior (it's a lot more fun anyways)

Sometimes...When I look all grungy, I just put on a pair of sunglasses and pretend I am just a celebrity trying to disguise myself

Sometimes...I wake up sore just from yelling so much the day before

Sometimes...I just wanna be in my warm bed all morning

Sometimes...I can't feel my feet for a few days, because they are so cold they have turned numb

Sometimes...I finished one final, and only have four more!

Sometimes...When I am debating if I want to go to the gym, I look at my stomach and if I can still see my muscles, I opt out

Sometimes...It has to storm to remind us to appreciate the sunshine more

Sometimes...It's just a "sometimes" day, and you just gotta go with it...

Energy Drinks and Naps

I am not quite sure HOW this is possible...but today I drank an energy drink right after church (I am well aware energy drinks are bad for me and I shouldn't drink them, but I do) and figured I wouldn't be able to take a Sunday nap. I was feeling okay with that, because then maybe I could do something more productive like study for finals. Nope. I laid down to watch a movie with my roommates and within 20 minutes, I was OUT. How is that possible? I decided that was the definition of burnt out. Who does that? Do you realize how much caffeine is in those things?!?! That is out of control. I need to slow down. Maybe after finals are over.

That's another thing! Finals. Today, during testimony meeting everyone was bearing their testimonies about going through trials and how we can make it through finals and everything will be okay. I'm sorry, but if having FINALS is your biggest challenge in life, I would say your life is pretty good. It's a test in school. It won't have a HUGE impact on the rest of your life. I don't even remember my grades from most classes. Of course you don't want to bomb them or waste your tuition money by failing a class. But seriously...there are much worse things to bear in this life than school tests. GPA's don't matter once you're done anyways. There is so much more to this life. Let's look at the big picture.

I went on a car drive today. Not to clear my head. No to get out of the house. Simply because my CAR is SOOOO much warmer than my house. How sad is that?! I go on drives to warm up!! Seriously this house is much too cold for me. I don't have enough body fat to live in this place, and I keep losing weight...probably from shivering.

I did it again. I signed up for another marathon. What am I thinking?! I have no idea! It's in June, the Utah Valley Marathon. I ran it two years ago and really liked it. It's a Boston qualifier, so I really want to focus on qualifying this year. How rad would that be?! To run the Boston Marathon! Hopefully by signing up, I will get motivation to work out again. It's just hard to have motivation when you are thinner than normal and you haven't worked out in a month. Not very good reinforcement if you ask me.

Random post? Yep. I am so bored this weekend!

I am listening to the forgotten carols. Love.

Today...I miss these guys....

2 Things

#1: I am turning into Cath
The other night, as I was reading, I couldn't help but be pleased with how clean my room was. I realized that this past semester, I have become suuuper picky about having a clean room and clean car. I can't get anything done until my room is picked up. This is seriously like the "anti teenage Kelli", because I have never really been clean and I didn't care. Now, I can't STAND having a messy room or car. I never thought the day would come that I would turn into my mother, but here it is...so I had to document!

#2 I am soooo stoked to go boarding!!

I brought up my snowboard after the break, and put it in the corner of my room, and every time I see it, I get sooo excited to hit the slopes! I haven't been boarding since last Feb. when I hurt my ankle, and I can't wait to get back out there! I got a sweet boarding setup last year, and I am seriously IN LOVE with it! I think my board totally fits me and it is soo fun to ride! Once finals are over...I am definitely getting on that mountain!

W is for Win

Jack and I on Thanksgiving

Alright, so I feel like I have had SUCH boring posts lately! Mostly because my life is crazy and I usually do the same things each day. Not that I don't like that. I actually LOVE IT! I love coaching basketball, I love my major, I love my roommates, and I love when I have the chance to see my family! So life really is good, I just haven't had any major events or extremely fun nights like I have in the past. I also don't ever really have my camera, because I do the same things almost everyday...so it's not like I really need to take pictures, right?

Well this week was another crazy week. Let's see....

Monday: Went to class, went to bball practice, went to family night, watched the Jazz game with my roommates and wardmates

Tuesday: Went to classes, then headed down to Morgan for our first game. It was sooo intense and I was not aware of how much stress I would encounter. BUT....we won and all was well. There were some definite "first game errors", but we definitely have a TON of potential and it felt sooo rewarding to see the girls execute what we teach them everyday.

Wednesday: Ditched class, went to practice, drove down to a game in Bountiful to scout out a team that we are playing next week (I felt very conspicuous up in the corner taking notes), drove down to Orem where I met my mom and we attended the Nordstrom Christmas appreciation night (it was very successful...got more grown up clothes).

Thursday: Woke up at 7 and got my hair done by my FAVORITE hairstylist Katie, wrote papers ALLLL day long, went to the games at Timpanogos. Our sophmores won, our JV won in double overtime, and our Varsity DOMINATED! I was SOOO stoked to beat Timp!!

Friday: Couldn't sleep at 4:30am so I got in the car and drove all the way back to Logan, got here and totally passed out, went to class...now here I am!

I still have practice and then I want to go to the gym. Then, I have to get a background check for my senior practicum application.

THEN....

Chillin out....ALL WEEKEND!!!

In two weeks...the semester is over!! I can't wait for the break!!
