Dome Tour!!

Capitol Dome Tour = Coolest part of DC!!

Dome tours are special, because you have to go with a member of congress. You get to go through the dome and on top of the Capitol. It seriously was AMAZING to see all of the art work of the Rotunda and then the gorgeous views of the city!! It was amazing!!

Walking up the domes, stopping by the Freize (A timeline of American history).

The Apotheosis of George Washington UP CLOSE!

Those little dots are tourists in the Rotunda! We are at the top of the dome!

THE BEAUTIFUL VIEWS OUTSIDE!!

The east side of the Capitol. Supreme Court on the left and Library of Congress on the right!

West Virginia

West Virginia is quite the place! We drove a gorgeous 1.5 hours to West Virginia yesterday to the horse races. It was so fun! While I didn't gamble, it was still fun to watch everyone else! I have been wanting to go to the races forever, and we finally had good enough weather to go! We got all dressed up in our best race attire, and made a whole day out of it!

First stop: Harper's Perry. A historical little town where you can walk to Jefferson Rock, and see where the Potomac and Shenandoah Rivers meet. That's also the point where Maryland, Virginia, and West Virginia all meet.

Get it? Fancy goods?! Yeah, I think I'm pretty funny sometimes.

Trevor and I outside the church.

My two brothers!! These guys are the best!

Next Stop: The casino and buffet. So yummy, except I have no control over myself when I can eat as many desserts as I want. I think I still have a food baby!

Landon, Spencer, and I

Trevor was OBSESSED with the chocolate fondue. He was also still happy because he was a big winner at Roulette!

Next up: The races!!!

Such a classic picture of these two. Trevor was the gambler and Landon was his "advisor"

About half of the group waiting for a race to start

In front of the race track

After a long day, we all headed home. This was the point where everyone who bet was feeling pretty poor. Number one lesson: The house ALWAYS wins!

I don't know how it always happens, but I am always with all the boys!

Dave's Diner

The other night was FABULOUS.

A lobbyist for Utah State University named Dave had all the USU interns at his home for some good ol' Southern BBQ. LOVED IT!

Best Part? His 50's Coke Diner in his basement!

All the pics are from my phone, so sorry in advance.

Dave- I would totally support having one of these in your home one day

Ashley and I

I ONLY drink real coke when it's in a bottle

Yummy yummy dessert!!!

Ashley REALLLLLY liked the dessert.

Random tangent of the day: I learned why you should never shop when hungry. The produce aisle didn't stand a chance...bananas, pears, grapes, apples, and oranges are all fully stocked in my fridge now!

Therapy Indeed

So basically, I have begun to feel like my life is like the movie "Groundhog Day". I wake up, workout, go to work, eat dinner, and go to bed. EVERYDAY.

Nope, that's a lie. Not on the weekends.

Anyway, I was raised by a fantastic mother who taught me, "When life gets you down, buy something new!"

Luckily, she also taught me to bargain shop!

Anyways, I bought a coat for half off and the brand is called "Therapy". How ironic is that?!

So here are some of the bargains I got this weekend:

$10 Lipgloss set from Urban Outfitters

$5 dollar eyeshadow set from Urban Outfitters

$25 cute cute jacket from a place in Georgetown

$30 RED HIGH HEELS!! I have been on the lookout for some of these FOREVER!!!!

Annapolis

Today the boys and I went on a little adventure up to Annapolis. Annapolis is about 45 minutes from our house and an AWESOME little place. It is a quaint little town with an ocean inlet where the US Naval Academy is. It is also where the U.S. Capital was until it was moved to Washington, D.C. It was such a fun day exploring this cute little sea side town, TOTALLY worth the little trip!

So when I met these boys, I asked them what their school was called. They laughed and said, "Ummm the Naval Academy!" Yep, sometimes there are actually stupid questions.

Biggest regret of the day = forgetting my beloved sunglasses.

The boys were so excited to touch the Atlantic Ocean for the first time!

The academy! I was loving it, cause it reminded me of my favorite movie "Annapolis" that was about the Naval Academy.

Lunch at a cute little place by the seaside.

We took a little boat tour, I loved it! I can't wait to go boating in just a few months!!

New Goal = Live by water and have a boat garage. These homes were richy rich!

Nothing beats tasty ice cream after our boat ride!!! Not quite sure what Spencer is doing on the left...

Behind me is the first capital of the U.S. It is still Maryland's capital building and the longest running legislative building in the country.

Loved today! I would totally recommend taking day trip to see this little town, I loved it!
