Jolly Friends

So as many of you know, my niece Kali and I have always had a special little relationship. We have always been best buds ever since she was born! I heard this song and it made me think of her and our silly little relationship. I decided to make this little video montage of pictures of us with the song. I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out! Check er out! (Be sure to mute the music at the bottom of the page!)

Shopper's High

Woooow!! I have a serious problem. My name is Kelli, and I have a serious shopping problem!! My parents and I decided to head up to the cold land of Park City for the long weekend! It has been soo much fun! Today we spent the entire day shopping. Cath and I have been in HEAVEN! What girl doesn't love to shop all day long and get AMAZING deals?! It seriously was sooo good! I got a bunch of clothes for work (I have a serious obsession with buying work clothes) AND I finally resolved my week-long dilemma about what I wanted to wear for my marathon. I figure, if I have to run for 26.2 miles, I might as well look good doing it right?! So when we got back, I changed into all of my new stuff and showed my dad! I don't look the best, because it was pouring rain all day, but my new clothes all make up for the bad hair and food-baby I acquired from Cafe Rio!

Outfit #1: Jeans- TJ Maxx, Shirt- Pac Sun, Earrings- Pac Sun, Necklace- Ann Taylor

Outfit #2: Shirt- Tommy Hilfiger, Jeans- TJ Maxx, Earring- Pac Sun, Necklace- Ann Taylor (My least favorite picture, doesn't actually do the shirt justice)

Outfit #3: Jeans- Tommy Hilfiger, Tank- Ann Taylor, Cardigan- Ann Taylor

Outfit #4: Jeans: Tommy Hilfiger, Tank: Eddie Bauer, Cardigan- Ann Taylor

Outfit #5: Jeans- TJ Maxx, Tank- Abercrombie, Cardigan- Abercrombie, Necklace- Ann Taylor

Last AND Best: My marathon outfit!! ALL NIKE! I am very happy with the new shorts I found that match my shoes PERFECTLY!! If you look closer, they have black lines, which go with my tank top! I am very excited for marathon day now!!!

So, there are all of the pictures from my little fashion show that I had after our big shopping spree! I am so excited to wear all of my new stuff and mix-n-match everything!! Today was a GREAT day for the shopping addict in me!

Can she do it?

I have had a lot of things on my mind lately. One of the big things has been my marathon which is two weeks away. There are so many variables that are starting to freak me out. My body is starting to get worn down. The weather may or may not become a huge determining factor. Am I ready? Can I run it fast? Which shoes should I wear? What outfit would look the coolest? How should I finish out my training? Soooooooo many questions, but my number one question is:

Can someone get a complete tendon graft surgery and have this gnarly scar:

And qualify for Boston in just ONE year?!?!

June 11 baby. All my questions will be answered. And hopefully it will all be worth it...either way, I made one helluva comeback!

Don't mess with Trudy

So I live with a boy who suffers from "Only child syndrome". I mean, who can blame him? He has lived at home as the only child for about the last four years now. He feels like he owns the place. So since I have moved back in, he has learned how to share. He doesn't like this whole "sharing with sibs" concept. I have noticed that he has hidden things from me such as toothpaste, so that I don't take all of his. Well most recently (the past 3 days), it has been the Apple Jacks. He HIDES the Apple Jacks from me so he will have more for himself! How rude is that?!?! So Trudy stopped by with a solution to my Apple Jack problem:

On the label that she made on the box it read, "Upon hearing a rumor that the world may be at risk of running out of Apple Jacks, I Trudy Meister, did a quick check down the cereal aisle at a local grocery store to make sure that there is indeed plentiful supply. I found abundant numbers of boxes in various sizes available to be purchased during store hours. AND in multiple quantities if desired! Although I only checked one grocery store I'm optimistic this would be the case where ever one would choose to shop. The three-day "miss-placement" of said cereal in the far back corner of the pantry at the Young's domicile can be a thing of the past. I was thrilled with my findings.
However, given the circumstances, and as a measure of mediation, I feel a form of recompense is called for in this case so I've taken the liberty of purchasing at my own expense a gift of Apple Jacks for the exclusive use and consumption by Miss Kelli Julia Young. At her sole discretion she may do with this box and any and/or all of its contents as she pleases; which may include eat it, smell it, share it, store it, or toss it. This list is not intended to be a complete list of options. It is not recommended that she tease or taunt with it, however. Enjoy your Apple Jacks Kelli Julia, and may I say...and live long and prosper!"

LOVE IT! Don't mess with the Trude-meister! She's got my back!!!

Kelli = Not Creative

You know how you absolutely HATE those people that say they are "sooo busy" and they never have time for you and they act like their lives are sooo hectic all the time and it is such an inconvenience to them every time you talk to them that you don't even mess with them anymore, because you know you will get annoyed by their busyness excuses?? (Holy run on sentence!) I hate those people...the problem is...I AM one of those people! Woof. I am constantly on the run!! When I am not at work, I am working out, with friends/family, or pounding out homework (online classes are waaay easy to get behind on by the way). So basically I just feel like my life is going at full speed and I can't stop. I get anxiety just getting on facebook at night before bed, because there certainly is something more productive that I SHOULD be doing. I honestly CAN NOT sit still without realizing that I have a massive headache from lack of sleep. Today, I started getting chest pains. What the heck? Am I 80? I have been dealing with ulcer problems the past few weeks, which most definitely is not helping with the whole marathon training!! Basically...what I am trying to say...is I am an absolute MESS! So tonight I went out with my great great friend Luke to Color Me Mine and Roll Up crepes. It was sooo fun to get out and go on a fun date! We are probably THE MOST uncreative people I have ever met, so it took us HOURS to master our "art". But it was fun! Here's some pictures....

This is what my bed room currently looks like. I moved home 3 weeks ago and it looks like I moved home yesterday. Awesome.

If I was ever home, this would give me anxiety.

The beginning stages of our mugs

The finishing stages

I decided to make a summery looking mug that said "life is good" that I can drink hot chocolate out of in the dead of winter next year to cheer me up!

The final products, I can't wait to see them when we pick them up!

Live Simply

After an exhausting week, and a Saturday that included this image:

And being deemed "Not Fun" by my little pal Kali:

The simplest form of entertainment was exactly what I needed:

Most of the time, SIMPLE is the best way to spend your Sundays with the people who matter the most!

Tomorrow is another day

To say I have had a bad week would be a huuuuge understatement. I have had a TERRIBLE week. One day in particular, I was just DONE. I could not do it anymore. I just needed to spend some time on my own and take it easy. I just kept thinking, "Tomorrow will be another day". I feel like it is okay to dwell on a bad day sometimes, when you have already made up your mind that tomorrow will be better. AND IT WAS! Today was muuuuch better than yesterday, and hopefully tomorrow will be even better than today! Some of the simplist things completely turned my day around:

1. Going out to lunch with my dad
2. Seeing my cute little niece Rylie
3. Getting flowers from a great friend delivered to work just so that I would smile
4. Going running in the small time that there wasn't rain
5. Great home cooked meal by Cath
6. Spending time and just chatting it up with my sister and best friend
7. Doing statistics homework...almost like math right??
8. Downloading new music.
9. My nightly phone call from Zac to talk about our lives and how things are going. LOVE IT.

So as you can tell...days can be turned around by people who matter the most in our lives doing small things to make a HUGE day-changing difference. What difference are you going to make tomorrow?

J.E.W. + M.P. = L.O.V.E.

Yaaaay for weekends! Looooove weekends now that every minute of every weekday seems to fill up so fast!! Although this weekend was really busy too, it was filled with so many fabulous fun things that I feel so rejuvenated and ready to take on this next week!! Some highlights of the weekend include hiking the Y with Dave on Saturday, and going on a date with my little bro on Sunday. Ever since he was little, I have listened to Jimmy Eat World with him. We both know a lot of songs and love jamming to them together. When we saw they were coming, we jumped at the chance to see them live....but forgot to look at the calendar to realize that they were playing on Sunday. So...we made an exception and went to the concert on Sunday together. I mean, it was a great family bonding experience! Before the concert, we decided that since we were in Salt Lake, we wanted to try dessert at the Melting Pot. It was divine! I loved it! Here's some pictures....

On top of the Y

Waiting in Line for Jimmy...we ditched it and got dessert instead...

While waiting, I turned the sky red

YUUUUUM!!

Shout Out!

I just needed to give a shout out to a FABULOUS new crepe place in Orem! It's called "Rollup Crepes" just south of the mall on state street. It is very very delicious and everyone should go and support the new restaurant! It's opened 24 hours on the weekend, MUUUCH better alternative than Denny's or IHop. The owners are way rad and I am very impressed by the new place! Go eat!!

We have some pretty good faces huh?

This corner is now "our corner"

Great food!

One Lucky Girl

So pretty much I am a waaay lucky girl!! I have so many people surrounding me with love and appreciation! I got a surprise party in Logan, then a small family party with my parents and bro, and then tonight we had a third party! Wow!! I am really glad I was born so that I could go to all of these awesome parties!! My cute niece Kali planned the whole thing. She called and scheduled a night, got the decorations, planned the games, did some of my favorite treats, and had some great presents! It was so cute! I love my family so much and I am so glad that I get to be home with them this summer and enjoy their amazing company!! Here's so pictures from the party...prepare to be overwhelmed by the amount...I'm obsessed with all the cool new things this camera can do!!
