Homework Distraction

Well...I am extremely behind in school seein how I have spent the past week sleeping and this weekend in Salt Lake with Cath. So have devoted this day to getting caught up and writing papers and reading and what not...yet I found myself blog stalking and playing with photo booth...awesome. I will blog more about our fabulous weekend, but I just wanted Tyler to know that I miss him....

I wrote this upside down and backwards to make it work, it took 3 trys!!

Blogging out of boredom

I'm sick :( Yucky! I have felt WAAAAAAY tired and yuck for like 2 weeks now and today it all hit. I seriously couldn't get out of bed. I slept ALLLL day. At first I thought, "winter blues"...then I was like "am I straight up depressed?!" But neither of those were the case. After yelling at the JV all game yesterday, my throat was straight up JACKED! It was AWFUL! I felt soooo sick. I began to worry that I had mono, because my symptoms matched up. Then I go to the Dr. and they think it's mono too!!! Way freaked out! Do I have to quit coaching? What about school? My marathon? Yes, I overthink things waaaay to much, and I am quite the worry wart. Well, the GOOD NEWS is that I just have strep. The BAD NEWS is that I have strep too. I am kinda in a crucial time with school and basketball and REAAALLLY don't have time to be sick. But what can I do? I seriously do something for like an hour and then I am exhausted. So...here's an update....

Tyler: Still crazy about the kid. It's been a rough week for both of us, but we have a great relationship overall and I am still totally loving being around him. He has been so sweet with me being sick. He went and got soup and some ice cream for my throat. There's nothing better than waking up and feeling miserable and seeing his smiling face to come visit me and bring me treats. LOVE IT!

School: Well...it's school. It's good, just overwhelming. I am to a very competitive point right now. Everyone has been the smartest in their classes. Everyone is just as driven. It's getting pretty intense. I had 2 meetings about my future with different counselors that was very good for me yesterday. It gave me excitement for all that I am doing and my future. I got approved to work at Paragon this summer and receive 6 credits towards an internship. I also planned out the rest of my college path. CRAZY! In about a year and 3 months, I will be a GRAD!! Crazy!! I am so excited for my future! I really have to work hard this last push (including 12 credits this summer), but I am confident that things will work out and I will soon be done and ready to enter the work force as a certified financial counselor. VERY EXCITING!!

Work: Basketball is good. I am having a hard time lately and a lot of self doubt, but the team is great. We are still undefeated in region (hope I didn't jynx that) and state is looking very hopeful. I have been so busy and sick this week that I have felt like I have neglected the girls lately, but hopefully I will be able to commit more of myself for the last few weeks. The girls make it all worth it, and coaching really is so rewarding.

Marathon: Gonna be honest, being sick has not helped this area. BUT hopefully, I will rest up, drink a lot of liquids and be good. This week will just be my recovery week! I ran 5.5 miles on the treadmill last week and thought I was going to DIE of boredom! It was soooo hard! I can't wait for warm weather and running outside. Last week, Tyler came running with me and I LOVED it! I love that he will run with me just to spend more time with me. Although we were both too out of shape to talk, it was good just to have someone there with me and feel that companionship.

Random: I just got back from observing my first financial counseling session. CRAZY. You know how on Grey's Anatomy they have a gallery and observe? That's what I was doing! Except I was behind a one-sided mirror so the client didn't know who was watching her! Soooo interesting/intense! I didn't realize how crazy it would be. It was a sad situation and extremely frustrating at the same time. It's hard helping people that honestly seem very helpless. It made me consider what type of counselor I want to be...and I think I want to be more positive with clients and really coach them on the fact that no matter what, THEY CAN do it and THEY WILL! I want to be a very positive counselor and give the clients that sense of empowerment and hope.

Home: On Saturday, I was feeling like I have been neglecting the fam. Even Austin texted me that he missed seeing me around (the kid doesn't EVER usually want me around). So I went down and was his date to dinner on Saturday. It is always so good to go home and see the fam. I love catching up with Dave about finance and basketball, and I LOOOOVE just chattin with Cath about life. I saw the kids on Sunday and Kali found out that I have a boyfriend. SHE WAS DEVASTATED. Like....bawling that I would never come home again. Like...we had to have a little "full house talk" about how I wasn't going anywhere and I love her just the same. She wouldn't let me leave, because she "wanted me" and didn't want to let go. Such a funny kid. Made me feel bad...yet good that I meant that much to her. I miss home a lot sometimes, but I know this is my life now and it's where I need to be for now. I will be moving home soon enough!

Okay, this has been WAAAAY too wordy for me and kinda boring, but that's the update. Nothing SUUUUPER exciting, just everyday life and my random thoughts about it all. Hopefully I will get over this strep and be a lot more exciting and have lots of fun. I am hoping to just have a weekend of fun with Cath and really just forget about life and all that overwhelms me lately!

Keller

In past posts you guys have been introduced to Tyler. People have gotten curious about what is going on with us, or what's our "story". Well, if you read a post around Christmas time, I actually talked about him. He is the brother of one of the girls that I coach. She was bugging to set us up for awhile, but I was a little bit hesitant. Then, I decided I wanted to go out with him just once, but it was just really awkward trying to go meet him since I was his sister's coach and all. Well, the day that I came back up from the break, we met up and hung out. We had an instant connection. We were best friends from the beginning. Every day since then, we have spent together and it has been such a huge blast! So I am now officially introducing my BOYFRIEND (those of you that know me, know that I don't say that very often) to the blogging world. We are super happy and are having such a good time dating each other! I am hoping he will be a new main character in the blog and in my life for a really long time!

Cheers Mr. King, Cheers!

Like I said in the last post, for MLK day dinner, we went to KFC and drank kool aid jammers. It was a grand ole time! We even gave a toast (with our jammers) to Martin Luther King himself. I think that he would have been pleased! I left my memory card for my camera in my laptop, so we had to use my phone, but it got the job done! It was a great holiday! Can't wait for next year!!

MLK Day Paaaartaaay!!!

Martin Luther King Day is a big deal at our house. We LOVE IT! All Holidays are meant to be celebrated, large or small! For dinner, we went to KFC (pictures in a later post) and drank kool aid jammers! Afterwards, we had a little "shindig" at our place. We played "kool-aid/rootbeer pong" It got INTENSE! There were many celebrations, disappointments, and finally....champions! Tyler and I (Team Keller) got defeated early on and spent the rest of the night coming down from an intense sugar high from all of the "purple drank" that we had to drink in our devastating defeat. We'll get em' next time! Vanessa and Cyler came out on top after three intense games! Here's some pictures of the night....

Early on, when everyone was sugar-free and feeling good!

CHEERS TO MARTIN LUTHER KING!

After our loss, we were sad we lost...but even more sad that we had to drink so much kool aid!

STRRRRIKE!

Last night, we went on a double date bowling. We played teams so Tyler and I were on a team and the other couple was on a team. It was way fun!! Tyler pretty much carried our team to victory (considering I was having a very off night) and the second game we lost by just ONE POINT!! Sucky!! But, we had fun and it was a good night! Here's some pictures....

Our cool shoes and white legs (I am REALLY getting sick of taking pictures and realizing how white I have become!)

The "Shake Face"

We took pictures where you would say a scenario and you would make a face really quick before snapping the picture. This picture was, "Your dog got ran over"

This pretty much describes us

So anyways, as you can tell we have lots of fun on the weekends in Logan. I am having a BLAST living the college life (even though this land is CRAZY COLD!!)

Day Maker

I have found a new favorite Youtube video. My old favorite (fat kid on roller coaster) was a very tough one to beat. It was my favorite one for 3 whole years! BUT, I have decided that I LOOOVE this video. It's even funnier the second and third time around. Enjoy!

Stick It!

Okay, whole bunch to catch up on! It's been a whole week! Of course, school started so my time began to not really be my own anymore! So let's have the run down....

School: I am lovin it!! I am the nerd on the front row that answers all the questions the teacher asks and everyone hates. But I can't help it!! I love all of my classes and I love going to class and studying and doing homework! Yes, I know I am a big fat nerd...but it's all good! One class, all we do is calculations for the whole hour and I am literally in HEAVEN! It is the fastest hour of my school day BY FAR!

Work: Oh basketball has been quite the treat! I think we may have hit our mid-season slump. We only won by 3 points on Tuesday to Bonneville, and then turned around and won by 2 to Logan in overtime! It's been a rough week for sure for us! We still only have lost one game (to Springville), so we are sitting pretty good in the rankings and standings so far!

Marathon Training: Well...I am kinda lacking in this area. I made a goal to run 3 miles every day in January...but it hasn't happened like I was hoping. I have ran a few times, but I need to become more consistent. Hopefully, when basketball is over, I will have a little bit more time for myself. I haven't really felt very good for the last 2 weeks either. I have some weird throat problem. My glands are all swollen and I lose my voice...but it doesn't hurt. It just makes me feel crappy a lot! I don't understand. It also makes it hard to breathe, which makes running harder. BUT I WILL do better, I promise!

FUN: Of course, we have been living the college dream and having a lot of fun in our spare time. Below, are pictures from the gymnastics meet we went to last night. It was USU vs. BYU and Arizona. BYU came out on top, which made my secret inner cougar proud!

Last Day

Today was the last day before the break ended and school once again started. BOOO! I am sooo not down with that! I could go the next few YEEEARRSS without school and be pretty chill with life. I absolutely HATE school and the fact that I have to trek up this freezing cold hill every morning and then run down it and drive out to practice everyday. Life is going to be insanely busy once again...and I like our lives up here too much to give away all of our freedom! This is what we did today...

Jentry let me trim her hair

I was super stoked on that!

She held very still

Makin my "oops" face!

Then, we played Dice. If you lose in dice, you have a consequence. Our consequence was to make the loser run around the house one time barefoot in the snow. Vanessa lost. BIG TIME! But, don't worry, she's nursing those feet back to health!

This is a little bit better pic of Tyler and I. We struggle at taking good pictures!
